Our Funding Priorities:
The Olivia Caldwell Foundation believes that our children are our future. It is because of this deeply held belief that we fund research and programs that focus on improving the lives of children who are battling cancer and other serious diseases in the state of Wyoming and throughout the rest of the world.
RESEARCH
Our top funding priority is research aimed at finding the cure for pediatric cancer. We make one large grant donation to Children's Hospital Colorado each Fall to fund the research of Dr. Nick Foreman's pediatric neuro-oncology team. This grant is used to provide start-up funding for new research projects to begin. To date, we have given $425,000 to pediatric cancer research, which has been used to fund 8 research projects in full and 30 additional research projects in part. This funding has led to the cure for several types of pediatric cancer, including the one that killed our namesake, Olivia Caldwell. to learn more about the research we fund please click here.
PEDIATRIC SPECIALTY CARE IN WYOMING
Our secondary funding priority is the funding of programs and services that improve the availability of care for Wyoming children who are battling chronic and/or complicated medical conditions. We do this by providing funding for the Pediatric Specialty Clinic in Casper, which opened in Fall 2019. This clinic is in partnership with Children's Hospital Colorado, CU School of Medicine, and Wyoming Medical Center. To learn more about the clinic please click here.
We also support training opportunities and conferences that aim to better train Wyoming health care providers to give care to children with chronic or complicated medical conditions without having to leave the state. We are working on an annual Pediatric Care Conference with our partners for Spring 2020.
