Jeff Bartling & Lena Jones
My name is Jeff Bartling and I moved to Wyoming from Texas last June after a rough and abrupt end to a 10 year marriage. When it ended, I had nowhere to go and ended up moving to Douglas with my parents. I landed a good job with a local roustabout company and was on my way to getting on my feet but was still deeply grieving over my failed marriage. Finally, at the suggestion of a friend, I reluctantly turned to Tinder.
Lena Jones, a Casper area native, was also suffering. Suffering from Multiple Sclerosis (a disease that limits her physical capabilities at times), suffering from rather severe depression, and dealing with the end of a marriage. After 21 years together, her husband decided that he loved someone else. In an effort to bring him back to his senses, she also began to search Tinder.
In August, both of us swiped right. This in itself is rather unremarkable, however the more we talked, the more we found we had in common. Two children - one boy and one girl about the same ages, similar taste in music, food, movies, and on and on. The wildest coincidence came when finding out that her father was my drill sergeant at Ft. Benning in 2002! The beginning of February marks six months together and while it pales compared to the time invested in our prior relationships, the time has been invested more wisely and has had better yields than either of us have seen in a long, long time.
We appreciate your consideration and look forward to seeing you in February!
