Andrew & Marissa Beard, Stella Strong Chairs

Andrew Beard was born and raised in Joplin, MO. He graduated from The University of Tulsa, obtaining a Business Administration Management degree. He currently lives in Douglas and works at Converse County Bank. Marissa Beard was born in Douglas, WY. She completed her undergraduate degree from Colorado State University with a degree in Human Family Services. She went on to complete her masters from University of Colorado-Denver with a degree in Elementary Education. She currently lives in Douglas.

Andrew and Marissa have 4 beautiful children. Stella (their angel baby), Owen, Elliott, and Mary Grace. On December 28, 2016 Stella was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive tumor (Diffuse Midline Glioma, which is in the same family as DIPG). The survival rate of this tumor is zero. Stella handled what was thrown her way with such grace and strength before passing away on March 23, 2017. 

Andrew & Marissa decided to keep Stella's fighting and helping spirit alive and turned StellaStrong into a place where they could help their community fight cancer and fund childhood cancer research. In 2019, they joined forces with the Olivia Caldwell Foundation, both with StellaStrong and by becoming part of the OCF Board. They are beyond honored to join OCF in the fight against childhood cancer! We are better together!
