What We FundThe Olivia Caldwell Foundation believes that our children are our future. It is because of this deeply held belief that we fund research and programs that focus on improving the lives of children who are battling cancer and other serious diseases in Wyoming and throughout the rest of the world.
We also provide funding for programs that focus on whole family support because we know it isn't just the child who is sick that struggles. Our Patient Advocacy and Mental Health Support Programs are designed to help the entire family be as strong as possible during this difficult time. |
PEDIATRIC CANCER RESEARCH
Our top funding priority is research aimed at finding the cure for pediatric cancer. We provide funding for start up research projects to begin. This enables our research team to work off of a hunch to pursue new ideas and better treatment options for pediatric cancer. CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE RESEARCH WE FUND |
IMPROVING ACCESS TO PEDIATRIC SPECIALTY CARE IN WYOMING
Wyoming is a unique state as we do not have the population to support a pediatric hospital. This means that children who are diagnosed with a chronic or complicated medical condition are required to travel out of state to receive specialty care. We now fund a Pediatric Specialty Outreach Clinic in Casper, WY that brings specialists from Children's Hospital Colorado to our state to see patients for a variety of specialities. MORE SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES WITH CHRONICALLY ILL CHILDREN
We expanded our services in late 2020 with the addition of a Patient Advocacy Program, which is designed to make a family's life simpler when their child is battling a complicated medical condition. Our Patient Advocacy Team is available to help Wyoming families for free regardless of income level or type of diagnosis. They can provide support and connections to resources that assist with travel expenses, childcare, school accommodations, medical support and equipment, food assistance, counseling, and anything else a family needs throughout their child's illness. Our philosophy is to provide WHOLE FAMILY CARE because the diagnosis is difficult for everyone in the family! CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR PATIENT ADVOCACY PROGRAM |
MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT
In early 2022 we expanded our services once again with the addition of Mental Health Support designed to help parents/caregivers as they support a child with a mental health concern. As part of this program we are offering FREE support groups and FREE educational webinars that offer a deep dive into various topics within pediatric mental health.
