Casper Pediatric Specialty Clinic
The Olivia Caldwell Foundation, Children's Hospital Colorado, CU School of Medicine, and Wyoming Medical Center have joined forces to open a Pediatric Specialty Outreach Clinic in Casper, WY! This pediatric-friendly clinic in the McMurry Medical Arts Building includes a play area with a child-friendly aesthetic. It is also the home to several pediatric specialty clinics from Children's Hospital Colorado-CU School of Medicine, including Cardiology, Endocrinology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, and Neurology.
This clinic is a giant step for our community! Currently any child with a chronic or complicated medical condition is required to travel out of state to receive expert care. This clinic will bring expert care to our children without them ever having to leave the state of Wyoming.
The dream of opening this clinic is only going to become a long-term reality with the support of our local community. We are currently in the midst of a fundraising/capital campaign to raise the funds needed to run this clinic long-term. The funds raised in this campaign will be used to pay for the lease of the clinic space, the lease of medical support professionals to help the doctors run their clinics, the cost of travel for the doctors, the monthly cost of running the clinic, plus the cost of licensing and credentialing of the physicians so they can practice medicine in Wyoming. Funds would also be used to hire a social worker who would be based in the clinic. The social worker would be charged with pooling and identifying all available resources for children battling complicated medical conditions in Wyoming. They would also hold support groups.
