Katie Burchett, CEO/FounderKatie Burchett, mother of Olivia Caldwell, has fourteen years of experience in marketing, writing, social media management and business. She received her Bachelors Degree in Journalism (with a minor in Business) from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2009, and worked in advertising and marketing in Reno for several years before moving to Wyoming in 2010. She was also a successful freelance writer for 7 years. After Olivia passed away in October 2013, Katie decided to devote her life to fighting to raise awareness and funding for pediatric cancer research and improving access to pediatric care in Wyoming. She works full-time for the foundation in addition to raising Olivia's twin brother, Wyatt and little brother, Landon with her husband, Wayne. Katie said, “I hope to make a big impact in Olivia’s honor. She was the most amazing daughter I could’ve ever asked for and I'm grateful each day that I can help her memory live on through the Olivia Caldwell Foundation.”

Katie was also the recipient of the 2020 Wyoming Jefferson Award for Volunteerism and is the author of the blog, BeautyFromTheAshes, which is dedicated to telling her story of finding new life, love and joy after loss. Her blog has been featured on Freshly Pressed and was awarded as one of the Top 75 Childhood Cancer Blogs in 2017.
In addition to her work at the Olivia Caldwell Foundation, Katie is also involved in the Casper Rotary Club, Wyoming Nonprofit Network, organizes the Cancer Professionals Group, and sits on the Steering Committee for the Care Alliance between Wyoming Medical Center and Children's Hospital Colorado. Katie believes in sharing her story in the hopes of creating change that will benefit other families in Wyoming, and is available for speaking engagements and seminars related to loss, life after loss, nonprofit work, advocacy and more.
