Sierra’s Ring Of Courage is an award created in memory of Sierra Jensen who was a part of the Olivia Caldwell Foundation Community after competing in the 2021 Butterfly Ball Prom King & Queen Competition along with her husband. She fought an incredibly courageous battle with cancer before God called her home in July 2021 at the young age of 35.
Sierra’s Ring of Courage was named to incorporate Sierra’s love of the Lord of the Rings while also encompassing who she was as a person - someone who was incredibly courageous, filled with love, and determined to leave this world a better, kinder place for everyone else. |
Will you help us honor the memory of this incredible woman by nominating others who have lived their lives courageously?

Sierra's Story of Courage & Grace Through Cancer
Sierra Jensen was a courageous, vivacious woman. Sierra had many callings in life: a mom, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a violinist, a singer, a personal trainer, a believer in God, a violin instructor, a college student, and a homeschool teacher. She pretty much did anything she put her mind to and did it all with grace. Sierra’s smile would light up a dark room, her doe green eyes made you feel at ease, and her ability to talk to anyone made you feel comfortable. She was one of the most positive people, even through the toughest of times.

At the age of 31, Sierra went in for a tumor removal surgery. That grapefruit sized tumor came back as benign. Five months later, she had another surgery, which resulted in the placement of an ostomy bag (which she called Bilbo Baggins). It was at this time she was diagnosed with Rectal Cancer, which metastasized fast. Sierra began treatment with chemo (through an IV machine she called Frodo), radiation, liver dissection, more of a different kind of chemo, and even immunotherapy. After three and a half years battling cancer, Sierra was called home to God far too soon at the young age of 20 days into her 35th year.
Sierra continued with all of the activities she loved so deeply up until she was absolutely unable to do it all anymore. She loved being a violinist with Wyoming Symphony Orchestra. Sierra pounded out her frustrations while teaching Pound at the YMCA, working out and personal training others. She had the most majestic, pitch perfect voice, which she showed off during her time with Opera Wyoming. Her kids were her pride and joy and she cherished her time homeschooling them. She was married for 15 years to her soulmate, they shared her whole journey and built a beautiful life and family together. Sierra loved her family and friends wholeheartedly, never met a stranger, and would never let anyone know she was suffering (which must have come from her stubbornness in life).
This award was created to honor Sierra’s courage, fight and life. She would love the idea of others being honored and applauded for their courage.
